Sell and use gift cards

Needs the Gift cards app: Settings → Apps (it turns on Checkout too).

Sell a gift card

1. 1Go to Sales → Gift cards.
2. 2Under Sell a gift card, type the Amount ($) and choose Paid by: card, cash, or free for a gift or promotion.
3. 3Add who it's Bought by and who it's For, with their emails and a Message if you like.
4. 4Press Create gift card. If you added an email, the gift card is emailed with its code.

You can also sell one at checkout on the Gift cards tab, along with anything else they're buying.

Take a gift card as payment

1. 1At checkout, under Payment, choose Gift card.
2. 2Type the code from the card (it looks like ABCD-EFGH-JKLM).
3. 3Finish the sale as usual. The balance goes down by what was used.

Gift cards are valid for at least 3 years, as Australian law requires. Change how long new ones last under Settings → Checkout. Check any card's balance in Sales → Gift cards.
